Hypnosis

November 11, 2009

How will your life be different when you change unwanted habits, remove limitations, and reach your goals?

Hypnosis can make your dreams a reality.

  • Control stress & tension
  • Overcome fears & phobias
  • Stop smoking
  • Let go of your allergies
  • Create abundance in your life
  • Control chronic pain
  • Improve your grades and study habits

“The whole process of going into…hypnosis was a very profound experience that changed my whole perception of myself.” —A.B., San Francisco

How does it work?

I practice Actualizing Hypnotherapy, a method of creating change and healing in your life.

Actualizing Hypnotherapy utilizes the sense of heightened awareness and concentration that is experienced while in the deepened state of relaxation that is hypnosis. This awareness and relaxation provide greater access to your inner mind (subconscious), the location of your memories, emotions, habit behaviors, autonomic nervous system response, and intuition.

Why is hypnosis so effective? Because it communicates directly with the subconscious mind, and that’s where real change occurs.

By combining the dynamic communication and behavior change skills of Neuro-Linguistics (NLP) with the powerful cooperative connection of the conscious and subconscious mind achieved through hypnosis, we will work together to replace your old, negative tapes with positive ones.

Can I be hypnotized?

If you have ever daydreamed or discovered yourself reading the same paragraph of a book or magazine over and over, you have already been in a hypnotic state.

Hypnosis is a state of increased relaxation and concentration, and is a natural part of our lives. You can be hypnotized if you meet three simple requirements:

  • You Want it to Happen
  • You Expect it to Happen
  • You Allow it to Happen

Common Misconceptions About Hypnosis

1. “In hypnosis, a person has to do whatever the hypnotist says to.”

You cannot be controlled and won’t to anything while in a hypnotic trance state that you wouldn’t be likely to do in your normal state. You will not accept any suggestions to do anything that is opposed to your morals, standards, ethics, etc. Since the subconscious mind will not allow you to be hypnotized against your will or accept any suggestions that are not in our best interests, even while in the hypnotic state, you are at choice. No one can be hypnotized unless they want to and allow it to occur.

2. “I will be unconscious if I am hypnotized.”

People are generally fully aware of everything that is going on and being said while in a hypnotic trance. Even in the deepest levels of clinical hypnosis, most people will remember most or all of what happens and is said Hypnosis is not about going to sleep or becoming unconscious. On the contrary, a typical hypnotic state is a condition of heightened awareness and deepened relaxation. It is a state in which the mind works so well and the Law of Self Preservation works so beautifully that no on could ever take advantage of you in the hypnotic state.

3. “If I am hypnotized I will lose control of myself.”

While in a hypnotic trance state you will actually gain greater control of yourself. The only reason we will accept and follow post-hypnotic suggestions is because they are what we have told the hypnotherapist we want. The Law of Self Preservation will not allow us to accept a harmful suggestion. There has never been a proven case of anyone being harmed through clinical hypnosis.

4. “Not everyone can be hypnotized.”

There are many levels of hypnotic trance states. Everyone can reach at least the lightest states of hypnosis if they are willing to be hypnotized. If you ever daydream, suddenly realize that you have passed your exit on the freeway, meditate, or become immersed in a good book or movie, then you have been in a hypnotic state. Everyone can be hypnotized if they want it to happen, believe and expect it to happen, and allow it to happen.
